Context

Many customers have asked questions regarding upload limits on Strapi Cloud compared to self hosting.

Answer

There are certain limits on Strapi Cloud that would not normally apply if you self-host your application. Some of these limits are imposed by us and others by our upstream providers. Current known limits are as follows:

• Certain file types, typicality attributed to spam, phishing, or generic cyber attacks are not permitted

• The file limit size of a single asset is 500MB, this cannot be changed as it's a limit of our upstream provider

• Cache settings for the CDN are set at 1 hour, at the moment it's not possible to adjust this nor manually bust the cache; if you need more control over this we advise using a 3rd party upload provider.
